Suchá Wins 2025 CMgp Short Story Writing Contest With “A Lamb”
“A Lamb”, written by Natálie Suchá of PL3, won the 2025 CMgp Short Story Writing Contest.
The story is a parable about a little lamb, his mother and a longing for appreciation.
The solid plot built nicely toward the climactic ending. The characters were well-developed and
supported the building tension of the story. Simply put, the story is a nice overall package with a
powerful message.
The contest asked students to write a short story in English. It had to be less than 1,000 words.
Fourteen students, representing seven different classes, entered stories.
The second-place story was “Dreamer”, written by Sofie Gergelová of G4. The synopsis for the
story was: We are all born with a magnificent imagination, but only few are capable of keeping it
for a lifetime.
The third-place story was “Solid”, by Veronika Škaroupková of G7. The story synopsis was:
Forbidden past and the unseen Master above us. Is it our fear holding us back?
The jury was made up of four teachers in the English Department: Daniela Švandová, Stanislav
Chvila, Matthew Vlcek, and Bruno Zalubil.

“A day in the life of an antidepressant pill”, by Marta Vostalová of G6
Have you ever wondered what would your life feel like if you were a pill? It doesn't matter, in the
end, because if you truly were one, you'd have no choice in anything. Your whole life would be
reduced to just a wait in a little box until the rescuation, and then, maybe… Freedom…?
“Mouse Train”, by Marek Laštovic of G7
Diam goes though the next wagon on his way to the great acquittal.
